    Come join Coach Busch for summer girls soccer practices to keep your body moving and prepare for your upcoming season! Available to athletes going into grades 7-12 for the 2025-2026 school year.   • Hornet Summer Sports Performance | Speed & Strength Grades 5-12

    Back again!! Big Lake Community Education and Big Lake Schools are working again with Day One Sports Performance! This partnership will bring summer workout sessions to our student athletes that focus on warming up the body, speed and agility work, weights (bands, bodyweight exercise), finishing challenges, and stretching. No previous workout experience is necessary. Program sessions are planned out based on age/group participating and a specific sport/activity focus. Register for classes that your student will be entering for Fall. Must have current credit card on file for auto-withdrawal. All levels meet 3 days/week M/T/Th, June 2-Aug 7. Modified schedule June 30-July 4. Not meeting Thur. June 19. Location at BLHS Weight Room/Fitness Center Door Enter Door N along with outdoor practice fields. $200 per athlete fee for 7th-12th graders | $180 per athlete for 5th & 6th graders - A late fee of $30 will be added if registering after May 15th!! You may choose to pay in full upon registration, or make 2 equal payments. One upon registration, and 2nd payment to be withdrawn on May 15th.     NEW! Explore BMX racing basics at Crow River BMX track! From learning about gear to riding techniques, progress through riding, racing, and skill-building.After each session, all are invited to stay for a free beginner - and family friendly community open ride, offering a supportive experience for beginners. Wear long pants, long sleeve shirt, close toed shoes and bring water bottle. Please check in 10-15 minutes before class starts and park next to the track.   • Intro to Big Lake Freestyle | Grades 5-9 Girls & Boys

    NEW! Beginner Freestyle & Conditioning with Coach McKinney will go over basic rules and techniques specific to freestyle wrestling at beginner level of understanding, but is also suitable for more experienced wrestlers looking to refine their skills. Athletes will be introduced to a hybrid daily training plan by integrating functional fitness conditioning, mobility, flexibility, and stability workouts throughout skill development blocks to provide individual understanding of how execution of technique is dependent upon a body's ability to move as required. Attire for practice; shirts with sleeves long or short okay, no tank tops. Sweatpants or shorts are acceptable and wrestling shoes or tennis shoes.   • Non-Contact Hornet 7v7 Football Passing League Boys & Girls

    The first hour of practice will be instructional time followed by the 7v7 games that are coached and officiated by Big Lake HS Football team coaches and players. This league is focused on fun and help all athletes develop a love for the sport via a fully non-contact model. Bring cleats (preferred but not required), tennis shoes, active wear and a water bottle. Sundays | 5-7 pm | July 13, 20 & 27 | $70 | Grades 3-8 | BLHS Athletic Fields | Fee includes t-shirt please select size when registering.
  • Special Olympics Young Athletes

    Special Olympics Young Athletes is a sport and play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities (ID) designed to meet their individual skill and ability levels. Young Athletes introduces basic sport skills, like running, kicking and throwing. Young Athletes offers families, teachers, caregivers and people from the community the chance to share the joy of sports and play with all children who should be valued for their talents and abilities! We will meet at Liberty Elementary School, 17901-205th Ave. Big Lake, 55309 - Field #1 by the main parking lot. In case of inclement weather, we'll have class inside Liberty Elementary School Gym.     Get a start in the sport of a lifetime, or improve your skills before the next season! Students will learn the basics of this fun sport or brush up already-learned skills. Bring your own racquet, water bottle and tennis/court shoes. Note: There will not be practice on Thurs. June 19 Holiday.   • Track and Field Camp

    This 4-day summer camp will introduce young athletes to the world of Track and Field! Students will learn proper warm-up and stretches, running technique, breathing, and participate in various track and field events (short sprints, longer paced runs, vertical and horizontal jumps, and throws). Track and Field athletes will also engage in some outdoor games that focus on speed, endurance, technique, and teamwork! Wear comfortable clothing, tennis shoes and bring a water bottle. Make-up day Friday, Aug. 1st. Instructor: HS Coach, Bob Blanchard and HS athletes.
  • Youth Hornet Football Camp

    Campers will learn basic football skills at offensive and defensive positions in this preseason camp. 7th and 8th-grade campers will learn about the varsity offensive and defensive schemes. Wear athletic shorts, a t-shirt, and tennis shoes or football cleats. Instructors: Varsity Coaching Staff & High School Players. Register by May 5 for a guaranteed t-shirt.
  • Youth Volleyball Skills Camp

    Build self-confidence, develop individual and team skills, and receive basic skill development while learning the fundamentals of volleyball. Wear tennis shoes, comfortable clothes and bring your own water bottle. Grades 3-5. Instructors: Rachel Leshovsky and Billeye Juarez You will register for the grade your child is going into Fall 2025 school year. Eligible for 3rd-6th graders during 2025-2026 school year.
