  • Dolphin 1 Level 2 Aquatics

    Swimmers will develop stroke technique in front and backstroke, and introduce breaststroke kick, and diving. Swimmers will continue to build on their endurance by learning rotary breathing.     In the Otter 1 class, swimmers will be introduced to underwater streamline, swimming and kicking longer distances, building on their treading skills, and jumping in from the side and swimming a certain distance.     In this class, swimmers will explore simultaneous arm and leg motions on their stomach and back. Swimmers will focus on body position, control and directional change.   • Seahorse 1 & 2 Aquatics | Parent/Child Age 6 mo-3 years

    Parents remain in the water with their child and work on body position, blowing bubbles, floating, and entering/exiting the water on their own. This class is intended for swimmers to learn to be comfortable in the water and start to develop skills for swimming independently from a parent with assistance of a flotation device.     Turtle 1 | Preschool Aquatics

    Turtle Level 1 will focus on water exploration with learning how to float, blow bubbles, push off of the wall, kicking, and small distance forward motion.     Turtle 2 | Preschool Aquatics

    This class will build upon the first Turtle 1 allowing swimmers to swim and kick longer distances, submerge under the water to pick up a ring from the bottom of the pool, and jump in from the side. The benchmarks for passing will be submerging underwater, swim to float, and learning to jump and swim to safety. No classes: Jan 15 & Feb. 15th Swim Levels are more about skill rather than age.     Give your joints a break by exercising them in the water! Water’s natural buoyancy lets you stretch and strengthen joints with less impact than land-based exercises. Water-based aerobics also can help with arthritis, osteoporosis and other health ailments.   • Water Walking/Open Swim Saturdays

    NEW! If you enjoy walking but would like to change things up from your usual routine, water walking is an option that can boost your fitness. This low-impact exercise not only has the potential to give you a great cardio workout, it can also help you burn calories, while building strength in many muscle groups. Open to community members of all ages! Lifeguard will be present. Participants are welcome to bring a lock for a locker, but it must be removed after each use.
