Develop your child's motor skills, hand-eye coordination, cardiovascular fitness and more through Amazing Athletes. Each 45 min. class encompasses two different developmental sport lessons, muscle identification and fruit or vegetable introduction, using fun activities so they can build their skills, at their own pace in a non-competitive atmosphere. Learn current practices for safety, injury prevention, first aid basics, and feeding and caring for infants. Additionally, learn how to handle behavior problems and how to manage a babysitting business. You will receive a reference book, handouts, babysitting bag and a first aid kit. Instructor: Emergency Outfitters Info for students/parents: You will need to bring your own pen or pencil, bag lunch, and are encouraged to bring your own hand sanitizer (we can provide extra as needed). NEW! Come join the Boys Varsity Basketball team and staff for a fun, one night event! This will be an evening of fun basketball activities for all 2nd - 6th grade boys and girls. No need to have previous basketball experience, this is for all skill levels. Participants will have the opportunity to join the varsity players on the court in exciting team competitions, and photo opportunities. Participants will also receive a t-shirt, pizza and drink. America’s Fun Science presents four classes of fun learning chess basics from a championship chess coach; each class focuses on a different piece. Series culminates with a mini-tournament & prizes! America’s Fun Science and Dr. Fun present a hands-on, electrical robotics class featuringBee-Bot. This is a great STEM introduction to coding experience. Learn to program your Bee-Bot to navigate a maze using up to 40 different commands! Instructor: America’s Fun Science

NEW! Spare, split, strike! Learn the skills and techniques of bowling including how to keep score, proper etiquette and more! We'll meet on Saturday's October 1, 8, 15 & 29 from 12-1pm at River City Extreme. The program will culminate with a competition and pizza party with the other school districts involved. All participants will receive a t-shirt and certificate. No experience necessary. Instructors are bowling alley staff or youth bowling coaches. Build a computer bot to play head-to-head against other coders! Whether this is your first Code Championship event, or if you've been competing for years, this is the perfect way to explore the competitive coding world of Code Championship. No previous coding experience necessary. The Fall 2022 Code Championship Series is a series of six tournaments in six weeks (it's ok to miss one or two). These tournaments will be hosted online using Google Meet and the Code Championship website. If you have a modern browser like Chrome or Firefox, no additional download is required. Please come knowing how to navigate the internet (basic typing and mouse control). The link to the Google Meet event will be emailed two days before the tournament. You will learn to read a recipe & follow directions, how to melt candy melts and kitchen safety. At the end of this class you will bring home some beautifully decorated Cake Pops for your family!! Students will gain a basic understanding of theater fundamentals through Drama Club. By rehearsing scenes, playing games, and practicing improvisation, students will not only learn the ins and outs of theater, but will develop new skills, exercise creativity, and meet new people who share their interests. This complete Drivers Education program consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel training. Behind-the-wheel instruction will be scheduled individually and directly with Wreck-Less Driving Academy. Students must attend all 30 hours. Any missed classes must be made up in future sessions (at any Wreck-Less location). Students will receive a completion certificate once all 30 hours are complete. Eligible Students must be 14 1/2 years old before the first day of class. Important documents will be handed out for parent/student completion in class. Pay in full $425 at time of registration to Big Lake Community Education, or option to pay $50 to reserve your spot but will need to contact Wreckless for payment plan.
