  • 3D Printing: Star Wars

    Students will design 3D objects using TinkerCAD (an online web app) and use the 3D slicing program Cura to bring their creations to life. We will be designing a Star Wars droid. Your 3D model will be printed and mailed home to show your family and friends what you created.   • Babysitting 101 Ages 10-13

    This course is best suited for 10 to 13-year-olds interested in learning the current practices of caring for young children and how to manage their babysitting business. Students will learn safety and injury prevention, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants and how to handle behavior problems.     Come join the Boys Varsity Basketball team and staff for a fun, one night event! This will be an evening of fun basketball activities for all 1st-5th grade boys and girls. No need to have previous basketball experience, this is for all skill levels. Participants will have the opportunity to join the varsity players on the court in exciting team competitions and photo opportunities. Participants will also receive a t-shirt, pizza and drink. With the t-shirt, your young athlete will get into a select varsity home game for free (remember to list your child's size when registering).   • Big Lake Dance Team Mini Camp & Performance Grades K-6

    Our Big Lake High School dance team will teach a routine to elementary kids, then perform it during half time at the Varsity home football game on Friday, Oct. 13. Students will practice 2 times before this event. Dancers will remain in the stands with their parents until called down to gather for the performance a few minutes before the end of the 2nd quarter. Each student will receive free admission to the game, a set of pom-poms and a bow. Adults pay $7/person at the door for game/show. Instructors: Big Lake High School Dance Team.     Dear CE XCEL & Pre-Team Gymnastics Families, Please review and agree to the following Big Lake Community Education policies to complete your child(ren)'s enrollment in our XCEL or Pre-Team gymnastics program for school year 2023-2024. Don't forget to indicate your athlete's name and what level they compete in. Families are required to review and agree to all BLCE policies annually in order for your athlete to be eligible for our program.
  • Code Championship Tournament Series Virtual | Grades 3-9

    Build a computer bot to play head-to-head against other coders! Whether this is your first Code Championship event, or if you've been competing for years, this is the perfect way to explore the competitive coding world of Code Championship. No previous coding experience necessary. The Code Championship Series is a series of four tournaments in four weeks (it's ok to miss one or two). These tournaments will be hosted online using Google Meet and the Code Championship website. If you have a modern browser like Chrome or Firefox, no additional download is required. Please come knowing how to navigate the internet (basic typing and mouse control). The link to the Google Meet event will be emailed two days before the tournament.   • Drivers Education Ages 14 ½ + yrs

    This complete Drivers Education program consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel training. Behind-the-wheel instruction will be scheduled individually and directly with Wreck-Less Driving Academy. Students must attend all 30 hours. Any missed classes must be made up in future sessions (at any Wreck-Less location). Students will receive a completion certificate once all 30 hours are complete. Eligible Students must be 14 1/2 years old before the first day of class. Please provide current email and contact information when registering. Parents will receive a welcome email from Wreck-Less approximately 1 week before class.   • Friday Night Ski/Snowboard Trips Grades 6-12

    New to skiing or snowboarding? Not a problem, lessons are available. Need a lift ticket, equipment or lessons? We have a package that will suit your needs. Buses depart from the back of the High School Loading Dock (Door I) shortly after class dismissal 3:30 pm. Buses return to the front of the high school at approximately 9:30 pm. All participants must ride the bus to and from Powder Ridge. Middle School & High School students will be able to store equipment before school - rooms will be determined at a later date. Please remember to fill out all questions online for this registration. Payment is to be made in full at time of registration. No scholarships will be available for these trips. Watch the website for further details in October. In case of inclement weather and a trip is cancelled it will be added to the end of schedule.     Let those little ones burn off some energy! The class will help with coordination, flexibility and balance. Your child will go through many activities including walking on beams, hanging on the bars, learning floor movements, trying out the vault and more.   • Horse Camp Ages 2-5 yrs.

    Campers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet a number of different horses at Boulder Pointe and learn about how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15 minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. PARENT/GUARDIAN: This 2-hour camp is designed for parent/guardian participation. Parent/Guardian is expected to remain with their child during the entire duration of the camp. WEATHER: Camps are held rain or shine, as we have an indoor barn and arena.
