    Come and learn how Cotton Candy is made WITH and WITHOUT a machine. In this class we will be learning how Cotton Candy is made by heating and spinning flavored sugar and Jolly Ranchers. We will also be playing games for fun prizes like a carnival and every child will go home with Cotton Candy and Prizes. Come and have some fun with your friends and enjoy the carnival!     Get ready to unleash your inner artist and learn creative crafting skills. We provide you with the tools and materials; your imagination will do the rest! With endless possibilities, you can create something uniques and one-of-a-kind. Each class will be a different craft to create! Come and join the fun of crafting with us! We provide the supplies, you provide the imagination. All activities are age-appropriate and supervised by our experienced instructors. See you there! Children must be potty trained!
  • Creative Movement: Animals

    This is a great option for the little ones to introduce them to dance, movement, learning in a group setting and so much more! We will be moving like animals and learning a simple routine that is - you guessed it - animal theme! This is a parent/child class.

    Cupcakes in a Jar are a fun make-ahead dessert made with layers of cake, frosting, fruit filling, sprinkles and more. You will use your creativity to make up your own beautifully layered jars with all the flavors of cake, frosting and other fillings that you enjoy. They're deliciously simple and perfect for any party or celebration. Come enjoy the creative cooking time with friends!

    NEW! Dash Sports Baseball camps provide players with a well-rounded experience in a fun environment. Key elements of throwing, fielding/catching, batting, and base running will be taught and practiced, and players will be grouped and challenged at an appropriate level in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with a scrimmage on the final day. Athletes should bring a water bottle and a baseball glove (spikes and bats are optional). Baseballs and bats are provided.

    NEW! Looking for a fun introduction to baseball? DASH Sports Baseball Tykes Camp introduces players to key elements of throwing, fielding/catching, batting, and base running. The final day of classes is ‘Game Day’ and athletes will showcase their skills in a game environment. Athletes should bring a water bottle and a baseball glove. Baseballs and bats are provided. Parent participation is recommended as needed.

  • Discovery Club Summer Field Trips

    **If your child is registered for Kids Club during these field trips, they are included in their daily activities so do not register** Join us for FREE as we tour and enjoy our local community! Open to youth who will be going into Kindergarten-6th grade fall of 2024. Children will build a stronger connection to nature and make lasting memories while visiting fun and exciting local parks and attractions. No spending money is needed. Please have your child wear tennis shoes, comfortable clothing, and have sunscreen applied. Also, please send your child with their own water bottle. While enrolling please ensure all contact information is up to date such as current email address, physical address, emergency contact names and phone #'s. Drop off and pickup at Door B - Big Lake Middle School. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to bus departure time. On site activities are located at the Big Lake Middle School (Enter Door B). Swim Levels are more about skill rather than age. If you are unsure of your child’s swim level, please contact: k.taubert@biglakeschools.org for verification. NOTE: Mid-session progress reports will be sent digitally for each level. Please provide current email address when registering to receive these reports.     NEW! Registration is now done through WreckLess Driving Academy Directly!! | Ages 14 1/2 + DO NOT REGISTER WITH BIG LAKE COMMUNITY EDUCATION!! Please register with Wreck-Lessdriving.com This complete Drivers Education program consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel training. Behind-the-wheel instruction will be scheduled individually and directly with Wreck-Less Driving Academy. Students must attend all 30 hours. Any missed classes must be made up in future sessions (at any Wreck-Less location). Students will receive a completion certificate once all 30 hours are complete. Eligible Students must be 14 1/2 years old before the first day of class. Big Lake Location: Big Lake High School Lecture Hall | June 10-24 (not meeting June 19), or July 22-Aug 2.   • Drivers Education Ages 14 ½ + yrs | VIRTUAL

    VIRTUAL DRIVERS EDUCATION CLASSES: Students MUST have the ability to print curriculum before class begins and the technology to attend class via Zoom with a camera and microphone. Parents and students will receive a welcome letter, Zoom information, curriculum and additional registration materials via email approximately 10 days before class begins. Registration is not considered complete until required forms are received in the Wreck-Less office 3 days before this class begins! Parents will need to provide a current email address and contact phone number upon registration. This complete 'VIRTUAL" Drivers Education program consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction via online, and 6 hours of behind the wheel training. Behind-the-wheel instruction will be scheduled individually and directly with Wreck-Less Driving Academy. Students must attend all 30 hours. Any missed classes must be made up in future sessions (at any Wreck-Less location). Students will receive a completion certificate once all 30 hours are complete. Eligible Students must be 14 1/2 years old before the first day of class. PAYMENT REQUIREMENT: Deposit of $50 due to BLCE to confirm placement in class. Parents and students will receive a welcome letter, Zoom information, curriculum, additional registration materials with payment due of $375 approximately 14 days before class begins. Registration forms and payment must be received in the Wreck-Less 5 days before class begins.
  • Drone Racing

    Students will learn how to fly like the pros in the Drone Racing League by training on a flight simulator. Once they learn the basics of flying, they'll assemble their very own drone which they'll get to keep after the camp (if they choose that option). After learning drone safety and maintenance, students will take their drone to the skies and compete in numerous races and challenges. Led by experienced instructors, students will leave camp with the skills and knowledge to pilot their drones and keep them running. The drones used in camp have cameras, and are perfect for entry level pilots. Students have the option to keep their drone from camp for an additional $50, look for options at registration. This camp is for students entering 3rd grade and finishing 8th grade.
  • Eureka Engineering

    Eureka Engineering introduces students to the core skills of robotics and STEM through engaging, hands-on learning opportunities. Student groups will work with LEGO Mindstorm kits, which include both electrical and mechanical components. The small groups will be mentored by experienced and passionate instructors. Parents are welcome to watch their child's robotic creations come to life in exciting and competitive challenges including drag racing, fighting robots and more! This class is for students entering 3rd grade and finishing 8th grade.

    Unlock the magic of filmmaking with "Exploring Cinematography" a dynamic 3-day summer camp designed to introduce students to the fascinating world of cinematography. Students will learn the basics of cinematography, video editing, and artistic expression. This class is for students entering 3rd grade and finishing 8th grade.

    Exploring Photography is an engaging and hands-on 3-day camp designed for students who have an interest in discovering the art and science of photography. This dynamic camp aims to introduces participants to the fundamentals of photography, foster creativity, teach technical skills, and teach photo editing. This class is for students entering 3rd grade and finishing 8th grade.

    Get moving with your family at this fun and engaging family dance party! We will move and groove, play dance games, and learn a fun and simple dance routine.
  • Family Yoga & Movement

    This movement and yoga class is created for families with kiddos of all ages! We will learn some very basic yoga moves in a fun and engaging way. Get ready to seat and have a yoga-tastic time. Please bring a yoga mat or towel to workout on.
  • Firearm Safety

    "Only students who register for this Firearm Safety Class are able to participate in the Field Day" (Virtual Students, contact the DNR website) This firearm safety class for Ages 11+ consists of classroom and field experience going over the safe handling of firearms and hunter responsibility. The field experience allows students to learn and demonstrate commonly accepted principles of safety in hunting and the handling of firearms. A parent/guardian must attend the first night of class and is welcome and encouraged to attend the other class sessions. Class cost includes a registration fee of $7.50 payable to Community Ed and a DNR fee of $7.50 due upon completion of the class. Student must attend all 6 classes, plus field day to complete the course requirements. Field day will be held on Saturday, June 29 at Monticello Gun Club and is only available for those students are registered for this full course. Certificate issued at end of course. Refer to the DNR website for questions and up to date regulations. Note: We encourage everyone to register and if no openings remain on the waiting list.
